NAME: Goldie Truth
PLAYER: Hunger
CHRONICLE: NOLA

NATURE: Conformist
DEMEANOR: Child
CONCEPT: Curious Newb

ESSENCE: Primordial
TRADITION: CoE
CABAL: N/A

APPEARANCE: While Goldie is 19, she is often mistaken for younger.  With a petite, sensual frame and a height of only 5’, the girl appears more vulnerable than she is.  Her sweet, almost angelic looks are both a boon and a hindrance depending on who she is dealing with.  Her hair is exceptionally long and the color of spun gold. -Pic-

HISTORY:  Goldie was born and raised in new orleans.  Her family has notable influence in high society, but that is a world that the young mage never had any interest in.  Luckily, her father is pleased to let her do as she likes so long as she is happy and safe. Goldie’s relationship with her mother is far less genial.  Once her daughter began to mature, Mira stopped seeing her little girl as a lovely accessory and started viewing her as competition.  Goldie is unaware of the reason for her mother’s increased resentment towards her and is rather wounded by it.  This parental chasm has only deepened with Goldie’s awakening.

High school was as trying an experience for Goldie as for anyone else.  Where her looks should have afforded her some measure of popularity, her home life adversely affected her female friendships as she become increasingly distrustful towards them.  As a result, she garnered mostly male friends and a perhaps not entirely undeserved… reputation.

Goldie’s awakening a was a dramatic, though not traumatic event in her life.  One that had been proceeded by small, but warning episodes of keen daja vu and waking dreaming.

MOTIVES:  While Goldie has no standing in the New orleans sociality of magi, she was fortunate enough to be noticed by a visiting, awakened friend of her fathers.  He pulled a few strings and within a matter of weeks, Kevin Bishop was relocated to Louisiana to serve as the girl’s mentor.  The pair are a good match and he has encouraged Goldie to truly embrace her potential while she explores the new, supernatural world around her.

NAME: Gentza ‘Gent’ Bolibar
PLAYER: Hunger
CHRONICLE: New Orleans

NATURE: Survivor
DEMEANOR: Rogue
CLAN: Nosferatu
CONCEPT: Purposeful Drifter

GENERATION: 11th
SIRE: Unknown
TITLE: None

APPEARANCE: -pic-
Gent has long, natural dreadlocks that fade from a dirty blond at his scalp to a pale, almost-white at the ends.  Occasionally, these are decorated with beads or other findings.  His smile is warm and easy, with deep laugh lines.  In public, he always wears a worn bowler hat of black leather that he keeps pulled down low.  This with the front layer of dreads pulled forward hides his face from the nose up.  At 6'8" Gent has a striking figure of well-cut muscle, just enough to be enticing rather than off-putting.  He's not afraid to show this off either and often wears tight jeans with shirts open at the chest.  He has a pair of black lauburu tattooed on either pectoral, framed in Basque patterns that curl around his shoulders and meet at the nape of his neck.  Infrequently, Gent will paint himself with soot from head to toe.  Whether this has some religious or cultural significance or is just a whim, he's not saying.

While some would find his public appearance attractive, what he hides with the hair and hat is likely to drive off all but the most bizarre of interested parties.  When he does not have to concern himself with appearing human, the Nosfuratu looks almost demonic.  His eyes are inhumanly large and fully black.  The corners of his mouth curl far up into his cheeks, making his grin a truly monstrous one that is only made more intimidating by the long, onyx fangs that curl over his bottom lip.  Above his brows, a pair of boney, horn-like protrusions grow out and up, curling close over the top of his head.

HISTORY: Bayonne, France.

The Path of Gran Ibo

“Ibo
Gran Ibo
I sit beside you
Ibo
I walk beside you
Like I always do
To the secret place where life begins
Ibo

Give me your hand
Lay your hands on my head
Bless me

Ibo
Whisper your secrets in my ear”

Nickname
Swamp Witch

Summary
Gran Ibo is the crone. The Loa of patience and wisdom. Older than memory, she does not tire or grow bored. There is always more to learn. To watch. A kindred of this path will have spent decades collecting knowledge about not just the things around her, but also the beings. Unlike other paths, walking with Ibo is directly tied to New Orleans herself. Mother and protector of the bayou, Gran Ibo expects nothing less of her followers. In this, the Swamp Witch finds not just a purpose for her unlife, but also develops the virtues and habits that aid in soothing the beast within. Thus, ensuring a long-lived and effective protector of the bayou.

The Path of Gran Ibo is not a widely spread one. Its followers never leave New Orleans. So, it has not been heard of by many outside of its own core despite having been practiced on some level or another since humanity discovered that the bayou had secrets. While swamp witches do not abound, they are a frighteningly powerful lot.

A kindred who finds this path does so only by being initiated by another witch. While the hunger for knowledge may be indisputable, suitable followers must also possess a patience that is supernatural even by vampire standards and a dedication to the city that has been shown to be unshakable. There are never more than three swamp witches at any given time. Despite the label of 'witch', there have been just as many male followers as female. Each takes the mark of the yellow canary someplace close to either or both ears.

Currently, the Dowager is the lone follower of this path. The coven was lost, like so much, to Katrina. In the coming years, the kindred of New Orleans will see more of the ghostly Samedi as she seeks out possible initiates.

The Ethics of the Path
- Protect and serve the bayou and New Orleans as a whole.
- Deal fairly with those who respect you and your purpose.
- Do not share knowledge with those who are undeserving or would cause harm.

Hierarchy of Sins
10 - Knowingly causing or allowing harm to the Bayou or New Orleans. - This is your purpose. Protect Her and she will give you Peace.
9 - Failing to listen to guidance provided by nature or an agent of Ibo. - The world speaks from experience. Heed it or be lost.
8 - Initiating the Unworthy - Gran Ibo will see right through fraud and insincerity. So too should you.
7 - Placing your own welfare above that of the swamp and city. - You owe your sanity to the Bayou, you exist to serve it.
6 - Failing to provide proper gifts to Gran Ibo. - It is She who lights your path, show your respect.
5 - Dealing unfairly with those who would respect you and your purpose. - True allies are invaluable. This includes refusing aid or knowledge due to clan or state of being (kindred, human, fae, etc).
4 - Feeding needlessly or carelessly. - Take only what you need without drawing attention.
3 -Showing Impatience - You have all of the time in the world. Listen and learn.
2 - Acting rashly - Always consider the ripples that your words and actions may cause in the swamps.
1 - Taking refuge outside of the swamps. - You are closest to Gran Ibo in her Bayou.

Virtues
Conviction, Self-Control and Courage

NAME: The Dowager
PLAYER: Hunger
CHRONICLE: New Orleans

NATURE: Martyr
DEMEANOR: Loner
CLAN: Samedi
CONCEPT: The Pariah Prophet

GENERATION: 8th
SIRE: Unknown
TITLE: Elder - Independent

KNOWN APPEARANCE: The Dowager rarely appears in public. When she does, she wears a long, covering cowl with a thick veil. Through the veil her eyes shine a sickly yellow, but no other features are visible. Her fingers are far too long, the nails sharp and dangerous, extending through holes in her gloves. The Dowager wears shades of black and only shades of black, from head to toe. She is not entirely without vanity, however. Her waist is corseted to a narrowness that makes ones eyes water just to see it. There is also a scent to the the lady, not exactly unpleasant, but unsettling. The perfume not of death and decay, but of the idea of death; dusty leather, freshly turned dark earth, mourning bouquets and dew on gravestones. Something about it pokes at the hind brain of mortals in particular, enticing them to hear the steady, unstoppable tick of their mortality dripping away second by second.

KNOWN HISTORY: Even for the other elders of New Orleans, the Dowager has been a constant presence in the city. A mystic shade fluttering through swamps, alleyways and sewer tunnels. Most aren’t even entirely sure to which clan she belongs, though Nosferatu is a good assumption. There are theories, but few speak of them. Mostly because even a kindred can learn not to look a gift horse too closely in the mouth. If approached in the right manner, if given the right gifts, the Dowager will tell you things about yourself and your future. More than one paranoid sire had been saved from the teeth of a childe thanks to a timely warning and a few words from the shadows. Even still, the woman’s alliances seem fickle and unknown. She is just as likely to aid an elder as a fledgling based on her own, private scale of worth.

Even the mortals have their stories of a ghostly apparition called The Dowager. Some say that she was a Haitian girl who became the unlikely bride of a french nobleman. Her husband died mysteriously and the girl was tortured and killed by her christian father-in-law who suspected her of murdering his son. Just as many suggest that she was a society woman fallen from grace by seeking dark magics to retain her youth and beauty. A few wise Vodou practitioners even believe the Dowager to be a manifestation of the loa, Gran Ibo. Predictably, in certain neighborhoods, a glimpse of the cowled Dowager is considered a sign of future good fortune for the faithful while to others it warns to beware the retribution of past sins.

INTENT: New Orleans has always and will always be Ninette's home. She will care for her as best she can through the good times and the bad. Now, it is just a matter of discovering which times she is moving in. If nothing else, they are interesting times.
